Many thanks to the C Student’s Life blog for posting out this article. This one has been out a little while but it is well worth the read. Everyone needs to understand the value of the major that they are choosing, and this article does as good a job as any at putting that information in perspective. One of the most profound statements in the article is that, while a degree is important, the major that you choose is three to four times more important. That has more to do with future earnings than having a degree or the choice of school.
From our perspective, it’s also vitally important that your choice of major aligns with your mission, passion, calling, all of those things that define who you are. Don’t chase money – chase your passion and the money will come. Once you figure out what that passion is, your work will become your life because it won’t feel like work any more. That, my friends, is a life well lived.
Enjoy the article and see where your major lines up.
